After having to cover the most boring election ever which then turned into the closest election in over 70 years, I really hope the journalists cut loose at the election tally room after-party on Saturday night.

It would make me feel warm and happy inside if ABC journos like Kerry O’Brien, Tony Jones, Leigh Sales, Steve Cannane, etc., danced it up at the after-party to this old ABC News theme that has been remixed by Pendulum.

Cards for awkward situations

Hallmark don’t really make a card for those unbearably uncomfortable situations in life.

But these Awkward Moment Cards ($20 USD) from Design Glut might be just the thing to get you through those uncomfortable elephant in the room situations you want to avoid but really shouldn’t.

If they start making these in business card format I’ll order a few thousand.

British comedian Tom Scott has created a clever set of journalism warning labels for questionable content and specious claims in newspapers.

With warnings like This article is basically a press release copied and pasted and Journalist hiding their own opinions by using phrases like ‘some people claim’ all I can say is where have these been all my life. It’s like online snarky comments on news stories but in analogue form.

Make your own by downloading the PDF template and put them on whichever publications you feel appropriate.

Like all independent community radio stations, the kids at Triple Zed are reliant on the music loving community buying a subscription to keep the station afloat.

Patience from The Grates in Brooklyn

Max Brenner is opening at South Bank

Some marvelous news for Brisbane’s chocolate addicts with confirmation that a Max Brenner Chocolate Bar will be opening this month at South Bank.

Previously you had to make your way to Robina or Main Beach on the GC to experience the world renowned chocolate maker’s creations.

If you are especially committed to Max Brenner, they are even advertising for a Chocolate Bar Manager to run the new store on their web site.
